TOM HENSCHEL
Tom Henschel grooms senior leaders and executive teams. An internationally recognized expert in the field of workplace communications and self-presentation, he has helped hundreds of executives achieve The Look & Sound of Leadership.

His expertise as a communications coach has taken him into executive offices at companies such as Amgen, BP Indonesia, CitiGroup, Ernst & Young, Lockheed Martin, State Farm Insurance, Symantec, and Toyota. Tom also delivers training in the areas of presentation, communication, influence and facilitation skills at companies such as Nissan, Taco Bell, Transamerica and NBC/Universal.

His expertise in group dynamics has taken him into the board rooms of companies such as DTS, John Laing Homes, Manhattan Associates, and Warner Bros.

Originally trained as a classical actor, Tom received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Juilliard School, Drama Division. Before founding Essential Communications, he was a professional actor for more than twenty years appearing in over 100 plays, films and episodes of television. On the other side of the footlights stage productions under his direction garnered thirteen theater critics' awards, including five for him personally as Best Director.

Tom is Past President of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Society of Training and Development. He lives in Studio City, California, where he is dad to Samantha and Julia.
